On October 7th, 2020, the second part of the FUTURES project kick-off meeting took place. The meeting was attended by representatives of all partner institutions: Middlesex University London (Great Britain), Valuedo (Italy), Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (Greece), Hanze University Groningen (Netherlands) and the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Sustainable Technologies (Poland ) and project leader – Faculty of Engineering Management, Bialystok University of Technology (Poland). The meeting was conducted by Irianna Lianaki-Dedouli and Niki Papaterpou from FORTH.
The main objective of the meeting was a discussion regarding Intelectual Output 1 (IO1), including among others proposed action plan of the activities: methodology, upcoming tasks, division of responsibilities. IO1 consists of three tasks: desk research on the identification and interconnections among futures literacy, foresight and theatre/performance methods for personal and professional development; anticipation workshops and the Delphi survey.
During the meeting, the participants developed an initial set of research questions which will be the basis of the desk research.
What are the links among futures, theatre, education, personal/professional development, sustainability at a theory and practice level?
- Futures as futures literacy/foresight
- Education as a secondary education / higher education/research environment
- Theatre as applied theatre practices and performance practices
- Personal development and professional development through identity work
- Sustainability (social, environmental, economic)
What are learning and teaching practices relevant to the interconnections identified in terms of process/structure/content/pedagogy and what are their underlying design principles?
The workflow of IO1’s activities is shown graphically in the image below:
